Disclaimer

This calculator provides estimates only. Actual material requirements may vary depending on surface conditions, application methods and project details. Always check product specifications before purchasing materials.

How to use this concrete calculator

  1. 1Select the type of concrete project (Slab, Footing, or Column).
  2. 2Enter the length of your concrete project in meters or feet.
  3. 3Enter the width of your concrete project in meters or feet.
  4. 4Enter the depth or thickness of your concrete in meters or feet.
  5. 5Click "Calculate" to see the concrete volume, cubic feet, and estimated bags needed.

The calculation is based on: Volume = Length × Width × Thickness. Weight = Volume × 2400 kg/m³. Bags Needed is calculated based on standard 25 kg bags of ready-mix concrete.

Understanding Concrete Calculations

Volume Calculation

Concrete volume is calculated by multiplying the three dimensions: length × width × depth. This gives you the total volume of concrete required for your project in cubic meters.

Unit Conversion

To convert cubic meters to cubic feet, multiply by 35.3147. This is helpful when working with suppliers who use imperial units.

Concrete Bags

Concrete is typically sold in pre-mixed bags. Our calculator estimates the number of bags needed based on standard 0.015 cubic meter bags (approximately 40kg bags). Always add a small waste allowance when purchasing materials.

Calculation Formula

Concrete Volume

Volume = Length × Width × Depth

Cubic Feet Conversion

Cubic Feet = Cubic Meters × 35.3147

Concrete Bags

Bags = Ceiling(Volume ÷ 0.015)

Example Calculation

Sample Project

  • • Concrete Type: Slab
  • • Length: 4 meters
  • • Width: 3 meters
  • • Depth: 0.1 meters (10cm)
1

Calculate Concrete Volume

4 × 3 × 0.1 = 1.20 cubic meters

2

Convert to Cubic Feet

1.20 × 35.3147 = 42.38 cu ft

3

Calculate Bags Needed

1.20 ÷ 0.015 = 80 bags

Concrete Tips

Prepare the Site

Clear the area of debris and ensure the ground is level and compacted. Use forms or boards to contain the concrete within the desired shape.

Mix Properly

Follow the manufacturer's instructions for water-to-concrete ratio. Too much water weakens the concrete; too little makes it hard to work with.

Work Quickly

Concrete starts setting within 30-45 minutes. Have all tools ready and work efficiently to finish before it hardens.

Cure Properly

Keep concrete moist for 7-14 days after pouring. This helps it reach full strength and prevents cracking.
